Deputy PM Truong Vinh Trong visits Holland in fight against AIDS


AMSTERDAM — Deputy Prime Minister Truong Vinh Trong, who chairs the National Committee for AIDS Control, concluded a six-day trip to Holland on Saturday under a project funded by the Joint United Nations Programme on HIV/AIDS.

Trong held working sessions with the Foreign Ministry, the Ministry of Health, Social Welfare and Sports, the National Institute on AIDS Control and the Dutch Centre on Sexual Workers’ Health. He also visited a camp for drug addicts and the Amsterdam Health Centre.

The hosts and guest exchanged views on the global economy’s impact on social affairs, policies on HIV/AIDS control and on community healthcare, as well as measures to promote co-operation in HIV/AIDS control. They also exchanged experiences in using Methadone for drug detoxification.

Trong met with the Minister of Health, Social Welfare and Sports, A Klink, to speak about measures for co-operation in healthcare and social affairs. (VNA - VNS)
