VIETNAM TO HOST GLOBAL SUMMIT OF WOMEN 2008

Vietnam will host the 18th Global Summit of Women in Hanoi on 5 – 7 June 2008.

Vietnam will host the 18th Global Summit of Women in Hanoi on 5 – 7 June 2008.

 

         As a non-governmental organization established in 1990, the Global Summit of Women is held annually to promote the role of women in economic, political and social fields. In 2007, the 17th Summit was organized in Berlin, Germany and attended by about 1000 participants from all over the world. The former Vice President Mrs. Truong My Hoa led the Vietnamese delegation to the Berlin Summit.

 

         Choosing Vietnam as the host for the 18th summit this year is an indication of high regards the Organising Committee has held for Vietnam. This will also be an honour for the country and an opportunity for  information/experience exchange, business networking and match-making investment environment, management, among international women.

 

         The theme of the Hanoi Summit this year is “Women and Asia – Driving Global Economy”. The topics and forums for discussion include the following :
